This July, twenty-seven young women will go on an amazing journey of self discovery at the Journey Camp for middle school girls. The girls will attend workshops with topics such as leadership development, empowerment, decision making and more. Journey is run by the Maryland Leadership Workshops and is supported by a grant from the Women’s Giving Circle, a fund of the Community Foundation of Howard County. “Preparations for Journey 2016 are well underway and we are pleased to announce that we have 27 young women enrolled this year! Last summer, together with the Women’s Giving Circle, we made the strategic decision to postpone for one summer. We created a Journey Task Force made of MLW and WGC board members and spent the year redefining our recruitment efforts to ensure our long term sustainability. Our enrollment goal for summer 2016 was 25. Not only did we meet that goal, we exceeded it! The work of the Journey Task Force has certainly paid off.” said Anita Anderson, Executive Director, Maryland Leadership Workshops.
